Organization Description
One Acre Fund is an agricultural NGO in Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania that is innovating a new way of helping farm families to achieve their full potential. One Acre invests in farmers to generate a permanent gain in farm income. We provide farmers with a complete market bundle that includes seed and fertilizer, financing for farm inputs and insurance, modern farming trainings, and market facilitation and harvest storage techniques. Our program is proven impactful – every year, we weigh thousands of harvests and measure more than 50-100% percent average gain in farm income per acre. We are growing quickly. In seven years, we have grown to serve more than 180,000 farm families in East Africa and over 150 staff members in Tanzania alone.
Job Descriptions
We are seeking experienced individuals to assist us in the following areas:
1. Field Operations Managers: Candidates should have experience working in the Field. This position will support our work directly with our farmers by helping to implement our Core Program, moving in the field to help manage our Field Officers, give trainings on leadership and Agriculture and work directly with farmers.
2. Expansion Manager: Candidates should have experience working in the field and a willingness to travel and move to new places. This position will help to explore new districts and regions for One Acre Fund to begin operations – initial posting would be in Iringa, but with a transfer to such places as Mbeya, Njombe or Songea after a few months.
3. Innovations Manager: Successful candidates will have some experience in leadership and the field. This position will help to manage new innovations projects to see what innovations we can bring to our farmers to make their lives better, such as new solar light technology, or Market Access programs to connect our farmers to local and national markets. This job is a mixture of time in the field and Office work.
4. Finance Manager: Manage our Finance Team that executes all payments to vendors and partners that we use. Candidates should have experience keeping books, managing a team, and using Financial software.
5. Bookkeeper: No management experience necessary. This position will help to keep record of our finances and all farmer loan repayments.
6. Trainers: Successful candidates will have experience teaching, especially teaching and training adults. This position will help manage training associates in our Training Department to ensure our staff conduct high quality trainings for our farmers.
7. Human Resources Associate: Successful candidates should like helping people and know how to be discreet. This position will be primarily based in our HQ and support all the needs of our staff, including servicing loans, leave time and payroll.
8. Inventory and Logistics Manager: Successful candidates should have experience managing inventory and/or delivery of goods. This position will help to manage all of our Agricultural Inputs like fertilizer and seed, as well as oversee the delivery of them to farmers. Candidates should have a mind to pay close attention to detail and not mind working many hours from a warehouse.
9. Auditors: Successful candidates should have experience auditing books and payment processes. This position will help to go to the field to audit farmer repayments as well as audit internal payment systems.

Qualifications

· Language: fluent in English and Kiswahili, ability to speak local languages.

· Demonstrates high-quality work with a strong attention to detail
· Willingness to commit to living in rural Tanzania for a long-term position
· Independent worker with strong ability to manage own schedule and tasks
· Confident communicator who is comfortable talking with many people on a variety of topics
· Ability to work as part of a larger team

· Language: conversational in Kibena or Kihehe
· Leadership experience at work, or outside of work
· Proven ability to set and meet targets on the job

Compensation: 300,000-600,000 base salary dependent on qualifications and experience – for candidates with education experience outside of Tanzania, we can negotiate much higher salaries, please enquire.
