EngenderHealth is seeking expressions of interest from highly qualified candidates for staff positions on an anticipated USAID-funded project that will build the capacity of the Government of Tanzania to support combination community-based HIV prevention programming.

Senior Technical Advisor, Social and Behavior Change Communication, based in Dar es Salaam, will provide high-level expertise in social and behavior change communication (SBCC). S/he will lead the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of technical strategies and evidence-based approaches to reduce high-risk sexual behavior, encourage health-seeking behaviors, improve gender norms, and reduce HIV-related stigma/discrimination at the individual and community level. Experience with SBCC mass media and community campaigns, peer health education, gender norms transformation, community engagement, key population groups and innovative demand creation for health services are essential; and experience with formative research, including use of qualitative methods, is preferred. With primary responsibility for technical oversight of project interventions in the above areas, s/he has an advanced degree in social sciences, public health, international development, or related field, with at least 7 years' experience of providing technical assistance in areas related to HIV prevention SBCC. Experience building the capacity of local implementing partners in community-based interventions is required. Fluent spoken and written English is required and Swahili strongly preferred.

This position is subject to change based on procurement requirements and are contingent on EngenderHealth being awarded the project.
