Job Purpose
To produce consistent quality food as per the menu while adhering to the Organizations hygiene and safety standards

Indicators of Good Performance on the job
·    Standards of service achieved
·    Hygiene, safety and quality standards achieved
·    Wastage/losses kept to a minimum
·    Staff effectively supervised, trained and developed
·    Equipment used optimally and kept in a good working order.
·    Staff and Guest complaints kept within set standards

Key Duties
·    Prepare breakfast and lunch  as per the menu
·    Hygienically prepare food as per the menu and ensure that it is ready on time
·    Perform kitchen opening and closing duties including requisition of provisions and ensuring proper storage of food
·    Maintain a safe, hygienic and healthy environment in the kitchen and work area.
·    Brief cafeteria staff on items offered in the menu
·    Take responsibility for the care of operating equipment within the kitchen and report any problems to the supervisor
·    Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Knowledge/Skills/Experience
·    Certificate in food production from Hospitality College or equivalent
·    2-3 years experience in a similar post
·    Understanding and knowledge of the menu
