The Tanzania National Road Agency (TANROADS) is an Agency under the Ministry of Works which is responsible for the Development and Maintenance of the Truck and Regional Roads network together with enforcement of Axle Load control by using Weighbridges
The Regional Manager - Lindi on behalf of the Chief Executive TANROADS is looking for suitably qualified Tanzania individuals to fill vacant positions available for operations of the Weighbridges located at Nangurukuru and Mingonyo
1. Weighbridge Operator - 2 Posts
Key qualification for the Weighbridge Operator
Education minimum qualification:
- Holder of full Technician Certificate (FTC) or an Ordinary Diploma in Civil, mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Higher qualifications will have a additional advantages
- Must be Computer literate (at least Advanced Certificate in Computer applications
- Must be fluent in Kiswahili and English languages
- Must be a Tanzania citizen
Responsibilities
- Enforcement of Road Traffic axle load control by the use of weighbridge scale devices
Duties
- Carrying out activities as described in the Roads Traffic (Maximum weight of Vehicles) Regulations 2011 and the Weighbridge Operations Manual
- Observe good customer care, dignity and integrity
- Reports all matters of the shift in-charge
Age: Not above 35 years
2. Shift In Charge - 1 Post
Key qualifications for the shift in Charge
- Age between 35 and 40 years
- Educational minimum qualification: Holder of 1st Degree in any Engineering filed. Higher qualification will be an added advantage
- Must be computer literate (at least Advanced Certificate in Computer application)
- Must be fluent in Kiswahili and English languages
- Must be a Tanzania citizen
Responsibilities
- Enforcement of Road Traffic Axle Load Control by the use of Weighbridge scale devices
- Overall supervision of shift activities at the weighbridge station
Duties
- Carrying out activities as described in the Roads traffic ( Maximum Weigh of Vehicles) Regulations 2011 and the weighbridge manual
- Observe good customer care, dignity and integrity
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the Regional Manager
3. Driver - 1 Post
Qualifications for the Driver
- Holder of Secondary education
- Holder of class C Driving License
- Must be a Tanzania Citizen
- Must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English Languages
- Not above 35 years of age
Duties and Responsibilities
- The holder of this post who reports to the shift in - Charge will be responsible for the following duties
- Maintain the Vehicle log book and all accident records pertaining to the assigned vehicle
- Keep the vehicle in good working order and in clear condition
- Reporting repairs or maintenance needs of the vehicle to the shift in - Charge timely
- Observing good customer care, dignity and integrity
- Performing such other related duties as may be assigned by the shift in - charge
Salaries will be according to TANROADS scales
Apart from qualifications requirements outlined, candidates to assume the positions must be trust worth, responsible, reliable, accountable and with high degree of integrity
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Appointment will be on Contract Terms of two years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance
